I have never been interested in writing during my school, college and unviersity time period. Since i have started my Masters in Project management at Chalmers University of Technology, i have got much more interested in it. Before i did wrote some notes on facebook and about my student life. But i have realized during this program that my background and learning environment is unique and the time i am living in at the moment will never come back and i am going for forget what is going on in my mind at this very moment. So i decided to write. I started writing a blogg about different aspects of my life in different countries. And it was good experience and it broaden my vision about different things. I will continue writing about that stuff in the other blogg.
For a long time i have been thinking about starting a blogg for my passion "Project Management". For many years i have been reading materials and trying to work more scientifically. But writing with the rules is more challenging. I have an ambition of becoming an expert in Project Management. It is a very interesting field, basically our life is also a project. There are so many topics to talk about and write about, but the scientific rules make the reflecting process more challenging. It is very important to go through all the rules before publishing. And there are much more distractions around us that make it even more difficult to reflect on the lesson learnt with the right source.
Anyways i have thought to get it started. May be in five years i will have a good storage of my own reflections and i have a hope that many people will also reflect on my thoughts and it also develop my knowledge in this field.
The questions was from where should i start. I took the basis part of my thesis work. It is just the scientific knowledge. But it is very good to know what a project is to get started. For beginners in Project management it can help them to further follow my future writings. So here we are

A
‘Project’ is a world known term and there are a lot definition provided by
different associations and networks related to the project management.
According to Project Management Institute’s Body of Knowledge (The largest
association for Project Management)
““A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken
to create a product or service or result.” (PMI, 2008, p. 5)
1- Unique: There is a condition that the exact project has not
been done before. There should be some novelty in the project. There can be
some elements that are repeated by they do not affect the uniqueness of the
project. For example bridges are made by similar material but they are
constructed at different locations in different designs. Therefore all projects
have some uniqueness in them (Maylor, 2010)
2- Temporary: All projects have a beginning and end time. People
move on after the project is finished. It can be a short duration or a long
duration. The inflow of financial resources is also finite. (Maylor, 2010)
3- Focused: Every project deliver a task. It can be a product,
service or any result. Therefore it is really important for a project to have a
clear objective. (Maylor, 2010)
After
these basic themes, uncertainty is also a characteristic of project. The future
of a project normally has a lot of uncertainties because a project can be new
to the project team; the environmental conditions can also change the outcome
of the project. Social, political, environmental and many unforeseen events can
result uncertainties in the project. (Maylor, 2010)
Projects
also have an element of change. When a
project is delivered it bring some change, a project also evolves from its
starts to the end. This change is also reflected in the social construct.
People work together and build a social environment and their interaction is
very dynamic and result oriented. All of the activities that are performed or
happened during a project are interconnected. And integration of these resources
is also vital to the success of the project. There are a lot of shared
resources, knowledge and benefits to the individuals, organizations or
societies. (Maylor, 2010)
They
have also defined projects as a temporary organization. According to Turner and
Muller (2003)
“A
Project is a temporary organization to which resources are assigned to
undertake a unique, novel and transient endeavor managing the inherent
uncertainty and need for integration in order to deliver beneficial objectives
of change.” (Turner & Muller, 2003)
